Segundo t\u00edtulo de una trilog\u00eda sobre el imperio austro-h\u00fangaro, precedido por \u2019Mephisto\u2019 y seguido de \u2019Hanussen\u2019. En el marco del derrumbamiento del imperio austro-h\u00fangaro sobreviene la tragedia del joven Alfred Redl, quien ingresa en el j\u00e9rcito, ascendiendo de forma mete\u00f3rica para tener, a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, un terrible final. Redl llega al grado de coronel en la carrera militar y es asignado a los servicios de contraespionaje, donde realiza una impecable labor.
